It has been a big month for Emily. Hard to write it all in one blog post, but here is the summary: Highlights: Emily is walking everywhere. She likes to walk around shaking her finger at Mella and saying "no,no" even when Mella is being good. She can also say "ma,ma" although she says "no, no" a lot more often and typically only uses "ma,ma" when she is shaking a baby gate or grabbing my knees. She understands "da,da" and definitely makes the "da" sound a lot lately so I'm sure she will start saying that soon too. She likes to carry around one of my old purses and one of my old wallets with old cards in it. She takes out the cards and swipes them. Hilarious! She now has a sign she uses to tell me if she wants more food. I taught her that yesterday. It took about 20 minutes for her to understand - amazing! She taps her right pointer finger into the palm of her left hand when she wants more. It is surprisingly helpful. She has also just cut one of her top teeth and the one next to it is on its way. And lastly, my favorite devolopment is she now pats me on the back when I pick her up. I know she is just doing it because I pat her back, but it is still the sweetest thing ever! Not-so-highlights: Emily discovered how to open the toilet lid, she discovered how to lift all the trash lids and remove its contents, she discovered how to take things out of the dirty clothes hamper, she discovered all the cabinets, she likes mella's dog food (and yes, I know everyone says "they will only do it once" - I wish that were true.) She finds mella's kibble on the ground and it goes straight for her mouth. She's had back to back ear infections. We just went to the doctor today and she developed a new ear infection just this week. If this continues she will need tubes. Emily also has pink eye as of this morning. Gross! So, we are entering the weekend with a fresh ear infection, pink eye and the cutting of her two top teeth. Party at our house!!:)
