Quick Trip to Austin

The Indy-Lesems made their annual pilgrimage to Texas this week. We had a great time hanging out at the lake with Don, Sheryl and Sam. We also got a chance to visit my grandparents and for Mella to get to visit her all time favorite back yard. Here are some pictures from the weekend.

Mark 3 months

Mark is already 3 months old. I can't believe it! The newborn phase is sweet and special, but I think 3 to 9 months is even sweeter. He is still small enough to cuddle with, can't talk or walk yet but is old enough to interact. I like this stage!

We just got back from a follow up doctor's visit and Mark is 25 inches long and 13lbs even. That puts him in the 85th percentile in height and 25th percentile in weight. Mark is still sleeping well at night. Bedtime is 8 and he usually only wakes up once between then and 5:30/6am. We've had 3 nights where he slept straight through but more often the deviation goes the other way. He still takes three naps that are about 1 hour each and usually one of those naps overlaps with Emily's nap!

I know we've had several posts recently, but I think this picture needs to be posted.

Mark's Baptism

Mark was baptized on March 6, 2011 by Rev. Daniel Irving at Memorial Drive Methodist Church during The Journey service. It was a perfect day. The weather was beautiful and we had lots of family in town for Mark's big day. Both kids were happy and well behaved although Emily managed to attract the most attention. There is just no way for a newborn to compete with a toddler when it comes to grabbing attention. Emily made various comments during the service while we were on stage. When Daniel began pouring the water she said, "What is he doing Daddy?" , and then walked around a bit on the stage, looked out and said "Hi Mimi!" On top of the comments, Emily also attracted attention by dipping her toe off the stage in contemplation of making a break for it and pulling and then removing her bow. Of course all of this was followed by a solid hour of singing and dancing for the family after the service. Mark got plenty of attention, compliments, hugs and kisses from the family so its not like he was neglected. But to sum it up, Emily did refer to the post service lunch as "my party." Here are some pictures from the day.
