Mark just had his 4 month check up. He is now 14 lbs 8 ozs and 26 inches long. That puts him in the 27th percentile for weight and 80th percentile for height. He is really moving around and alert these days. Rolling both ways and developing a tendency to roll over to his tummy to sleep after I put him down on his back. He is sleeping through the night consistently now. Bedtime is around 7:30/8 and he sleeps until anywhere between 5 and 7 am depending on how lucky we get. He is still napping 3 times daily about 9, 12 and 3:30 with mid day being the longest. Emily naps mid day too so it works out great. Of course I'm sure that's why he naps best then - his other naps are very short because it's usually while we are out! He is still doing lots of smiling and cooing but I have not heard a belly laugh yet. I keep trying but maybe he just doesn't think I'm funny.

Everything else looked great at his check up and our doctor recommended starting him on rice cereal. I think Mark likes it more than Emily did at this age. And he figured out how to eat it very quickly! This clip is not his first actual bite, it took a few bites before we both got the hang of it. I like the look on his face at the beginning of the clip. Emily was eating her dinner at the same time and obviously thought the whole thing was hilarious.

Emily is two years old today. I can not believe how quickly these two years have flown by. I keep writing and re-writing this post but no words can do it justice. I just can't fully express how special these two years have been. As I tucked Emily into bed tonight she gave me a big hug, we said our prayers, she said good night and then as I was walking out she said "I'm two, mommy!". Yes indeed. Happy birthday my love!

The bouncy seat is out and the bumbo seat is the new favorite! Mark kept trying to sit up straighter and grab for toys in the bouncy seat so this new set up is much better. Emily loves the seat and tray too. She just informed me that "mark ate all his broccoli" and that "he wants more raisins". I'll have to keep an eye on this! Mark also discovered how to play his piano toy with his feet. Here are some pictures.

We had a fun morning playing at the water park. I can't believe it is already swimming time. This time of year is so much fun with little ones!

Emily is turning 2 this month and the terrible twos have arrived. I thought she had entered the terrible twos about 4 months ago but now I know that she was just getting warmed up.

Emily has started shoving raisins up her nose. It's her favorite snack and often the only thing she will eat besides fresh fruit so its essential when we are out. But she discovered this weekend that she can shove them up her nose and get all kinds of attention. I try not to make a big fuss but she gets it WAY up there (to the point where you cant see it) and I'm worried it might do some damage so I have no choice but to reward her with attention. I decided today that I obviously just need to stop giving her raisins but I'm sure it's only a matter of time before she finds something else to use.
