Mark - 18 months!
We had Mark's 18 month well check last week. Everything looked great. He is 26 lbs and 10 ozs which puts him in the 70th percentile for weight. The first height measurement was 35 inches which puts him at 100th percentile for height, but then they did it again and he was 34 inches and that is the 85th percentile in height. I think he is somewhere in between.
Mark has started running around everywhere and getting into everything. Ben just installed a whole new round of baby proofing through out the house. I'm not sure if Mark just gets in to more than Emily did or if he just has more opportunities to sneak off with another toddler in the house to watch. Either way, we need more locks this time around.
Mark has a lot of words now although he is still not as talkative as Emily. He is too busy busting open cabinets, climbing on furniture and running around with makeshift weapons. Some of Mark's words really crack me up though because they are words that weren't on Emily's radar until much later. Juice, cookie, cupcake, my turn, bite, booger, poop, poo, poo poo, gas, truck, tractor, bus... and then of course all the usual words like family member names, animals, all the toys, necessary demands and so on.
Mark really likes playing with any kind of car, truck or tractor and carries around his bat for literally hours every day. He also likes to play with Emily's little baby boy doll - mostly pushing it around in the stroller. That stroller has been one of the best toys. I should also add that he loves to sleep. Lately it is 8:30 am before he makes a peep and even then he just wants to roll around for a while.
Here are some recent pictures, Mark doesn't stand and pose for me like Emily so it's harder for me to get clear shots. He has a busted lip in some of the pics. He busted it open this weekend when he climbed on the picnic table at the pool trying to get to the food. He also loves to eat! I can't believe he is already 18 (almost 19) months. It has gone by so quickly. Happy 1 & 1/2, Mark. You are my love.
