I want to start by apologizing for the long delay in posts and also for not getting the previous posts back up in a timely manner as had been promised. These kinds of things can really kill a websites following, so I understand that I'll need to be more diligent from here on out. Everything seems to have been restored for the most part. I have a top notch hoster and really all the credit goes to him for getting things back online without any significant data loss. The only known issue remaining are the thumbnails for the shower pictures don't display, but if you click the boxes the full size photos will come up. If you notice anything else not working please let me know. We'll be posting more photo galleries soon. Just a little teaser....Emily went on her first road trip last weekend and also had her first visit to the lake. Very exciting stuff. The video below is the first I have made of Emily. These clips include shots of her at the hospital and from the first couple of days after we brought her home. The video's probably a bit too long, but I'm still getting used to the transition from canine to human subjects. (It's a lot easier to cut video of Mella than of Emily.) I've moved all of the video hosting to a Vimeo account. Some of the videos are viewable publicly on that site but this one of Emily can only be viewed from the embedded link on lesem.net. If you would like to download the full video or have trouble viewing it please let me know. The password to view the video is: lesem When I showed this video to family before posting it here they usually ask what the songs are, so in case you're curious...the first song in the video is "Book of Love" by Peter Gabriel. This song was used in the closing montage on the final episode of Scrubs. (Click here to see it on YouTube.) I've watched that show off and on throughout it's eight seasons and when I saw the closing scene I knew I wanted to use that song in a video of my own. The second song has an unfortunate title, so I'm not going to give it away here. It's from the movie City of Angels which is a good movie but has a much better soundtrack. Caroline might disagree with me on that as Nick Cage is one of her favorite actors. The video of Emily and I laying on the floor together is from right after we got her home from the hospital. Caroline's mom had just brought Mella back home and we were about to do the first introductions between Mella and Emily. The third song is "Caribbean Blue" by Enya and probably the most recognizable of the three. The video of Emily getting a bath was her first bath at home and also the first bath that Caroline gave her. The video of the two of them walking outside was Emily's first time outdoors and in the sun. It was an overcast day but you can still see Emily squinting and reacting to the totally new and much brighter environment. I hope you liked the video. Let me know what you think in the comments.
